Factory
Poppy Red and 289 2-barrel Car
Photo taken at a park in Arlington Texas by the person who purchased
the car from me.
Photo taken
right after the car was completed and is in my shop. This was a new hood that
blew up
when I drove it to town once. I had to do a second hood before I could sell
it. The car was built
to sell. I think when I got threw adding up all the receipts and subtracted
the total for what the
car sold for I had made about twelve ($12.00) dollars. Great looking and running
car,
but a bad business decision. I did the body work and paint. Dickie Jones came
down and
we painted the car together, Dickie painted the drivers side half and I painted
the passenger
side half at the same time.. We both used Binks Model 7 paint guns. It looked
just like the
same person painted the whole car.
The car sold for a unheard
of $7.200.00 at the Pate Museum
swap meet, for a Non-Pony Mustang. About $5,000.00 was
top dollar for a mustang like this in 1977. Many said that
this was the best looking car at the swap meet that year.
